Even in her first public appearance, at the Emperor's Birthday Celebration, Lady Vorkosigan showed her deft had at blending galactic and traditional Barrayaran styles. Her cream and green gown brought Betan sophistication to the provincially-inspired fashion of the late years of Emperor Ezar's reign.
